Ceremonies
Ceremonies
At Bury Manor Barn, you can choose the ceremony to suit you as we are licensed to hold civil ceremonies and are next to a beautiful 12th century church. If you choose a celebrant led wedding, we can accommodate that too!
Church Weddings
We have very close links with the 12th century Church of St John the Evangelist which is next door to Bury Manor Barn. After the service, photographs can be taken against a range of stunning backdrops including the banks of the River Arun. The wedding party can walk along a pretty stone path and through a private gate onto a covered terrace which is ideal for a Champagne reception; guests can park at the venue and walk to church – thus avoiding having to drive from the church to the reception.
Rosemarie, Church Warden, can be contacted in order to discuss available dates and times.

Civil Ceremonies
These can take place either in the wonderful inner barn or outside at our unique amphitheatre with stunning views across the Wildbrooks and River Arun to Amberley Castle and the South Downs beyond. Registrars can be contacted in order to confirm dates and timings:

Celebrant-led Ceremonies
Humanist and other celebrant-led ceremonies can take place in the inner barn, the amphitheatre, the Walled Garden or even the woods. There is no restriction on place or time and they offer couples the complete freedom to personalise their ceremony content. Such ceremonies are not legally binding however, and so in order for couples to become legally married, a legal registration will need to be arranged which can take place on a date prior to or after the wedding celebrations at Bury Manor Barn. The legal signing does not need to be on the same day. Please contact your local Registry Office for booking options and further information.

H&K, married Aug 2023
“It was worth every penny!!
Our wedding at Bury Manor was absolutely phenomenal!! The grounds were stunning, and all of our guests said what a beautiful setting we had. We got married outside in the amphitheatre. And had the beautiful South Downs as our backdrop to our vows.”
C&W, married April 2023.
“We had a beautiful wedding day at Bury Manor Barn at the end of April 2023. We married in St John’s church next door and were so lucky to just walk round the corner into reception drinks and music which really just added to the ambience (even more so as the sun was shining.)”
